CO2 Utilization Technologies: A Techno-Economic Analysis for Synthetic Natural Gas Production

نویسندگان

چکیده

Production of synthetic natural gas (SNG) offers an alternative way to valorize captured CO2 from energy intensive industrial processes or a dedicated grid. This paper presents energy-efficient for production using and renewable hydrogen. Considering several hydrogen sources, techno-economic analysis was performed find promising path toward its practical application. In the paper, five possible sources (photo fermentation, dark biomass gasification, bio photolysis, PV electrolysis) were compared two reference cases (steam methane reforming water economic stand point key performance indicators. Possible capacities also considered evaluation. From technical view, SNG process is efficient both efficiency (about 57%) conversion rate (99%). evaluated options, photo-fermentation proved be most attractive with levelized cost 18.62 €/GJ. capacities, this option loses advantageousness gasification becomes more little higher at 20.96 Both results present when no credit considered. As presented, credits significantly improve indicators, however, still than prices.

Producing synthetic natural gas frommicroalgae via supercritical water gasification: A techno-economic sensitivity analysis

A techno-economic sensitivity analysis of the production of synthetic natural gas (SNG) via catalytic supercritical water gasification (SCWG) of microalgae produced in raceway ponds (RP), tubular-, or flat-panel-airlift photobioreactors (FPA-PBR) has been perfomed. The aim of combining microalgae production with SCWG is to close material flows with respect to water and nutrients, the so called ...
